Run through the Woods in Sarasota
The McIntosh Turkey Trot takes place at McIntosh Middle School in Sarasota, Florida. This athletic event features a single distance for participants:
- 1 Mile run or walk
The course follows a path through the wooded areas surrounding the school grounds. Participants can park in the lot located near the newly built barn on the school property. The event is open to runners and walkers of various ages, and the registration process is completed in advance of the event date.
Following the physical activity, a free Fall Festival is held on-site. A DJ manages the announcements and music during the festival. Awards are presented based on specific age categories, including overall male and female winners, as well as first, second, and third-place finishers in groups ranging from under 10 to over 60 years old.
In addition to performance-based medals, the event includes a raffle for participants based on their race bib numbers. Packet pickup is organized at a local athletic store in the days leading up to the race, with additional options for students to collect materials at the school.
