McHenry County Patriot Run
The McHenry County Patriot Run takes place on June 21, 2026, at Veteran Acres Park on Walkup Road in Crystal Lake, Illinois. The event includes multiple distances and a community-focused format with proceeds benefiting veterans organizations.
Distances offered:
- 1 Mile walk/run (Father's Day Fun Run)
- 5K trail run
- 10K trail run
Packet pick up is available the day before at Smith PT and on race day at Veteran Acres. The 5K and 10K include overall awards for top male and female finishers in each race; those overall winners receive a custom wooden flag plaque. Age group awards recognize the top three finishers in each category for the 5K and 10K, with age groups from 14 and under, then 15-19, and continuing up to 70 and older. The one mile finishers receive flags, and American flag pins are distributed; funds that would be used for medals or other awards are allocated to veterans causes.
The event supports teams with a group discount of five dollars off per team member for groups up to ten members. Course maps and past results are provided by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
