McHenry County Patriot Run
The McHenry County Patriot Run takes place on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at Veteran Acres Park on Walkup Road in Crystal Lake, Illinois. The event features multiple timed and untimed course options on park trails and includes a Father's Day walk/run.
Distances offered:
- 1 Mile walk/run (Father's Day fun run and warm up)
- 5K trail run
- 10K trail run
Packet pick up is available the day before at Smith PT and there is race day packet pick up at the race site. Team entries receive a group discount of five dollars off per team member for teams up to ten members.
Proceeds from the event benefit veteran-focused organizations. The race continues a tradition of handing out American flag pins and directing funds that might otherwise be used for medals toward veteran support.
Awards include custom wooden flag plaques for overall male and female winners in the 5K and 10K. Age group awards recognize the top three finishers in each category for the 5K and 10K, with age groups from 14 and under, 15-19, and continuing upward to 70 plus. The 1 Mile finishers receive flags at the finish.
