May 4th be with you 5k - Chelmsford
The event is scheduled for 04 May 2027 at The Voodoo Keller Bar in Chelmsford. It is a 5k route provided as a GPX and Strava track with a narrative back up; the narrative and GPX/Strava links will be emailed in April. A tail walker or rider will accompany the route.
There is a best Star Wars themed fancy dress competition with a prize for the best dressed. Entry includes a finishers drink (beer, wine or soft/hot drink), a packet of crisps and a 50th anniversary T shirt. A £2 levy applies for non TRA/EA members and the TRA permit number is listed as TBC.
Registration takes place inside the Voodoo Keller Bar. Participants should carry a mobile phone. The venue provides use of a back area for bag storage at the runner's own risk. Runners should note they must tackle the stairs out of the basement at the start and at the finish.
Public transport options to the bar include buses, trains, bicycles, hire scooters and walking; local car parks are within a two minute walk. Participants who cannot get home by other means are advised to arrange a nominated driver or use a nearby taxi.
Total places for the event are 60. The published entry price schedule shows tiered fees: £18 until 01 Nov 2026, £19 until 01 Jan 2027 and £20 until 21 Apr 2027. A service fee applies to each sign up. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
