8th Annual Maxeys Model Mile
The Maxeys Model Mile returns for its eighth edition in Maxeys, Georgia. This event historically represents the first official 5K to be held along the Firefly Trail. Participants gather at the intersection of Laurel Street and Sunset Street, located just off Highway 77.
The race course utilizes the Firefly Trail for both the start and the finish lines. Registration and event activities are concentrated near the corner of Highway 77 and Laurel Street. The event offers multiple participation formats to accommodate different preferences:
- In Person 5K (3.1 miles)
- Virtual 5K (3.1 miles)
- Phantom Registration
The virtual option allows participants to complete the 3.1 miles at a location of their choice between May 11 and May 18. Those registered for the virtual race submit their times digitally by noon on the final day of the virtual window. The phantom registration provides an alternative for those who wish to support the event without completing the distance on race day.
