8th Annual Maxeys Model Mile 5K
The 8th Annual Maxeys Model Mile takes place on May 16, 2026 in Maxeys, Georgia. The event offers three options: an in person 5K, a virtual 5K and a phantom registration. Registration is handled along the Firefly Trail near the corner of Hwy 77 and Laurel Street.
The 5K starts and finishes along the Firefly Trail and runs through the Maxeys community countryside, with the final mile on the Maxeys Model Mile. The course is USATF certified (GA24006DJ) and is a Peachtree qualifying event.
Registration and fee structure include shirt and no shirt options. In person entry is listed as $20 no shirt or $25 with a shirt if registered by March 28, 2026. Virtual entry is listed as $20 no shirt or $30 with a shirt including postage; virtual runners are not eligible for race day awards or event shirts. Phantom registration is a no participation option with shirt choices: $20 no shirt, $25 with shirt for pickup on race day, or $30 with shirt including postage. General registration closes May 13, 2026.
Awards are presented for Overall Male and Female, Masters and GrandMasters, and five year age groups from 10 and under through 80 and over. The event is part of the Black Bag Race Series, the Clover Glove Race Series and the Firefly Trail Race Series, with finish line timing provided by Classic Race Services.
