Event overview
The 8th Annual Maxeys Model Mile takes place on May 16, 2026 in Maxeys, GA 30671. The event offers in-person, virtual, and phantom options for the 5K distance. It is a member race in the Firefly Trail Race Series and is also listed with the Black Bag Race Series and Clover Glove Race Series. Finishline management and timing are provided by Classic Race Services.
Course and location
The race uses the Firefly Trail for its start and finish and runs through the Maxeys community and nearby countryside. The course is USATF certified (GA24006DJ) and is a Peachtree Qualifying event. Registration and packet pickup take place along the Firefly Trail near the corner of Hwy 77 and Laurel Street. A course map and route image are available from the organizer.
Registration, fees and awards
Registration options and typical fees include:
- 5K In Person: $20 no shirt, $25 with a shirt (register by March 28, 2026)
- 5K Virtual: $20 no shirt, $30 with a shirt including postage (register by March 28, 2026)
- 5K Phantom: no participation, shirt-only options with pickup or postage (register by March 28, 2026)
Virtual runners may run between May 1 and May 16 and must submit a finish time by May 16. Virtual runners are not eligible for race day awards or t-shirts. Awards are given to overall male and female, masters and grandmasters, and in 5-year age groups from 10 and under through 80 and over. No refunds are offered for inclement weather.
