Matawan Borough 20th Annual 5K Turkey Trot & Fitness Walk
The event is a community 5K run and fitness walk held on November 28, 2026, in Matawan, New Jersey. The course begins and ends on Main Street and is presented as a certified 5K distance.
Registration opens on September 23. Registration fees vary by date and method. Online and in-person pricing is offered, and in-person race day registration is available for $40 cash only. Runners registered by November 3 are guaranteed a race shirt; shirts after that date are available while supplies last. Early packet pickup is scheduled the day before at the Matawan Borough Municipal and Community Center, with additional pickup on race morning.
Net proceeds support local parks, beautification projects, and recreation programs. The organizers also accept donations for the Matawan Food Pantry during registration to supply food to those in need throughout the year.
Awards are presented as follows: top three overall male and female finishers, and top three male and female finishers in each age group. Age groups include 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, then 5 year bands from 20 to 79, and 80 and over. No duplicate awards will be given.
