Master Kim's Scholarship Fundraiser 5K
This event is a community fundraiser that supports a Taekwondo scholarship program for high school students and college freshmen. It is the fifth annual running of the event. Past editions have raised over $20,000 for The Taekwondo Fund, and the scholarship program has awarded over $76,000 to students who demonstrate Taekwondo tenets in their communities.
The event offers both in-person and virtual participation and includes timed competition for all race divisions. All finishers receive a medal; trophies are awarded to division winners. Each race has two registration packages: a standard package with a medal and a deluxe option that includes an event shirt in addition to the medal.
Distances
- 5K run and walk
- 1 mile children’s run and walk
Details for the children’s 1 mile: the course is intended for ages 4 to 12 and is run on grass. Children aged 4 to 6 may bring one adult guide aged over 13 at no extra charge to guide them on the course. Rankings for the children’s mile are timed and broken into age level awards. Event organizers advise participants to pass without pushing, be aware of the grass course surroundings, and wear appropriate sports gear such as sneakers.
