Market Street Run for Blue
The Market Street Run for Blue is an annual event held in Philadelphia that supports the Philadelphia Police Foundation. Participants can choose between two main events:
- 5 Mile Market Street Run
- 3 Mile Market Street Walk
The course begins and ends at Front and Dock Streets, situated next to the Philadelphia Marriott Old City. The route takes participants from historic Old City toward the Schuylkill River, specifically reaching the area near 30th Street Station before returning to the finish line. This event provides an opportunity to support the Philadelphia Police Department and strengthen community ties through positive interaction with officers.
The event includes a post-race street festival at Front and Dock Streets with closed roads, food, and music. Attendees can also interact with the department's Mounted Unit horses and K9 units. All registered participants receive a long-sleeve performance race shirt and a finisher medal. Jogging strollers are permitted on the course.
Timing services are provided professionally for the competitive run. The top three overall male and female runners receive monetary awards, and additional recognition is given to the top three finishers in various age brackets ranging from 5-13 to 70 and over.
