About the race
The Market Street Run for Blue takes place in Philadelphia on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The event offers two options along Market Street between the Delaware River and the Schuylkill River, starting and finishing at Front and Dock Streets next to the Philadelphia Marriott Old City. The course runs about 2.5 miles along Market Street toward 30th Street Station and returns to the finish; walkers turn around at City Hall and return to the finish line. This is a fund-raising event for the Philadelphia Police Foundation to support the Philadelphia Police Department.
The Market Street route was introduced in 2019 as an alternative to the Broad Street run and runs through historic Old City. Jogging strollers are welcome. Amenities and logistics include a Market Street Run for Blue long-sleeve dri-fit race shirt for paid participants (while supplies last). Bib and shirt pick-up will take place at the Old City Marriott on October 16, October 17, and race morning on October 18.
Finisher medals are not guaranteed after September 15. Results will be professionally timed by Bryn Mawr Racing Co. Awards include monetary prizes for the top three overall male and female runners and medals for the top three male and female runners in each age bracket: 5-13, 14-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. The finish area features an award ceremony and community elements such as mounted unit horses, K9s, refreshments from Wawa, and live music.
