Marietta Shamrock Shuffle 5K
The Marietta Shamrock Shuffle is a running event held in Marietta, Georgia, to support the Marietta Police Athletic League (PAL) youth programs. The race starts and finishes at Marietta Square, following a route that takes participants through some of the oldest neighborhoods in the area. The course travels north along Cherokee Street and returns south via Church Street, passing various historical homes.
Participants can choose from the following registration options:
- 5K (running race)
- 5K Phantom Runner (nonprofit support option)
The event features a St. Patrick's Day theme, including costume contests for participants dressed as leprechauns. In addition to general ranking awards, the second mile of the course is designated as the Memorial Mile of Celebration. This section, located between the first and second mile markers, is dedicated to honoring late loved ones. Teams consisting of 25 or more members who register by a specific mid-February deadline are eligible to have a memorial name included on the official event shirt.
The Phantom Runner category is available for those who wish to contribute to the cause without physically participating in the race. This option is open to individuals nationwide and includes the opportunity to collect a souvenir shirt at the designated packet pickup location.
