Mardi Gras 5K Prediction Run
The event is a chip timed 5K road race in downtown Mobile, Alabama on February 7, 2027. The course starts and finishes near 199 S Broad Street, Mobile, AL, across from The Ice Box. The race is organized as a prediction run: participants enter a predicted finish time during registration and the winner for the prediction award is the person whose official chip time is closest to their prediction. Use of watches, phones, GPS, or other timing or pacing devices disqualifies a participant from contention for the prediction award. Computer chip time is the official time.
There are adult and under 16 entry options with listed fees of $25.00 and $12.00 respectively. Packet pickup is scheduled at Fleet Feet Mobile, 3972 Airport Blvd, from February 1 through February 6 between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm, and on race morning at the race site from 6:00 am to 7:30 am. Event day registration is available during race morning pickup.
Awards and on-site activities include a closest predicted time award, fastest overall, top male and female, most referrals, best costume categories including a Best Joe Cain Costume, most spirited, and a Team Bead Toss competition where teams toss beads and the last team remaining wins. The published refund schedule offers 75% up to 60 days before the race, 50% up to 30 days before the race, no refunds within 30 days, and free bib transfer up to 10 days before the race.
