Mardi Gras 5K Prediction Run, Mobile AL
The Mardi Gras 5K Prediction Run is a themed 5 kilometer race held in downtown Mobile at 199 S Broad Street on February 7, 2027. The event uses chip timing and records the official finish time from the timing computer. The prediction category awards the participant whose actual finish time is closest to the predicted time entered on the application; electronic watches or timing devices are considered an unfair advantage for the prediction award and will lead to disqualification from that award while remaining eligible for other awards.
Packet pickup is available in the days before the race at Fleet Feet Mobile (3972 Airport Blvd) and also at the race site on race day. Registration material and pricing vary by category; listed entry fees include an adult entry starting at $25 and a youth entry listed at $12, and a tiered price scale with a higher day-of rate is noted. The event plans a Mardi Gras themed medal with a beaded lanyard and a themed T-shirt. A team bead toss competition is part of the program; teams toss beads to a partner, step farther apart each round, and the last team with beads remaining wins a prize of a free pair of shoes for each team member.
Awards and contests include closest predicted time, top male and top female overall, fastest time, most referrals, best costume, and a most spirited energy award. The refund schedule specifies 75% refund up to 60 days before the race, 50% up to 30 days before, no refunds within 30 days, and a free bib transfer up to 10 days before the race.
