Marblehead Festival of Arts Road Races
The Marblehead Festival of Arts Road Races is an annual community event featuring multiple distances and participation options. The proceeds from the registration fees support festival fundraising efforts and local arts scholarships. The event includes several race categories:
- 1-Mile Fun Run
- 5K
- 10K
- Virtual 1-Mile Fun Run
- Virtual 5K
- Virtual 10K
The courses begin near the Post Office on Smith Street. The 5K route follows Atlantic Avenue to Seaview and Humphrey Street, while the 10K includes a loop around the Neck. The 1-Mile loop utilizes Atlantic Avenue and the local rail-trail. All three in-person races conclude at the finish line located at Marblehead High School.
Participants who register by June 1 receive a performance-wicking race t-shirt. For the competitive events, awards are presented to the first and second place finishers in each age division for both the 5K and 10K. All participants aged 10 and under who complete the 1-Mile Fun Run also receive awards. On the day of the event, an on-site store offers festival-branded gear and glassware for purchase.
