About the race
Manitou’s Revenge is a 53 mile ultramarathon scheduled for June 19, 2027 in Windham, NY, organized by Run Wild Inc. The course begins on the northern Black Dome Trail and follows the Long Path from Acra Point into downtown Phoenicia. Organizers state the route includes approximately 15,000 feet of climbing and much rocky, precipitous terrain. While there are some runnable sections, much of the course requires hiking uphill or downhill and occasional hand over hand moves.
The course often takes longer to complete than a typical 50 mile race and may place runners on difficult terrain in darkness. Because of the remote and difficult nature of the route, aid stations are limited and runners should be prepared to be self sufficient for long stretches, potentially three to four hours between aid stations. The course also becomes progressively more difficult as it proceeds. Registration opens in phases. On February 1, 2027 registration opens only to past finishers.
General registration opens February 22, 2027. Early registrations placed between February 1 and February 21 by entrants who are not previous Manitou finishers will be removed from the waitlist without separate notice. Initial sign up places entrants on a temporary waitlist and invitations to complete registration are issued once qualifications are confirmed. Refunds minus the Ultrasignup fee are available until May 1.
