Manitou's Revenge - 53 Mile Ultramarathon
Manitou's Revenge is a 53 mile ultramarathon through the Catskill Mountains that begins in Windham, New York and finishes in downtown Phoenicia. The course starts on the northern Black Dome Trail and then follows the Long Path from Acra Point to Phoenicia. The route includes approximately 15,000 feet of elevation gain across technical climbs, rock strewn descents, and sections that require scrambling.
The event is organized with a limited number of aid stations and enforced cutoffs at specific stations. There are nine aid stations and an overall 23 hour time limit. The race policy emphasizes self sufficiency between checkpoints and does not permit pacers. Logistics include packet pickup in Phoenicia and bus transportation from Phoenicia to the start, with on site check in at the start area and a post race meal in Phoenicia.
