Event overview

Manitou’s Revenge is a 53-mile ultramarathon held June 20, 2026, in Windham, New York. The route begins on the northern Black Dome Trail and then follows the Long Path from Acra Point to downtown Phoenicia. The course includes approximately 15,000 ft of climbing and passes through the Catskill Mountains.

Course and logistics

The route contains rocky and precipitous sections; some parts are runnable but much of the course requires hiking uphill or downhill, and some moves may require hand-over-hand progress. Aid stations are limited; runners should expect stretches of up to 3 to 4 hours between them and be reasonably self-sufficient. The course becomes progressively more difficult later on, and some competitors may encounter the hardest terrain in darkness.

Registration opens February 1, 2026 for past finishers only, with general registration opening February 22, 2026. Initial registration places entrants on a temporary waitlist; qualified entrants receive an invitation to complete registration. Entries submitted between February 1 and February 21 by runners who are not past finishers will be removed from the waitlist without separate notice. Refunds minus the event platform fee are available until May 1; refunds are available at any time for pregnancy or postpartum needs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
