Event

The Manhattan Irish Fest Parade 5k is scheduled for March 7, 2026 in Manhattan, IL. The event distance is 5K. Race entry is listed at $35 (strikethrough price shown as $50). Registration closes on December 31, 2025 and re-opens on January 1, 2026. The event is presented in cooperation with the Irish American Society of County Will and the Prairie State Road Runners and is part of the Irish Fest parade and festival.

Course and logistics

The race runs along the parade route. The start line is at Thelma Ave and North St and the finish line is at Second St and Eastern Ave. There will be timing mats at start and finish. A sweeper will maintain a 22-minute per mile pace; course marshals will remain on course until the sweeper passes. Because parade parking in town is limited, participants are advised to use the Metra station at 15601 Sweedler Road and take provided shuttle buses to the start area. There will be no gear check. Race-day packet pickup is at the Metra station; early packet pickup is available at Fitness Premier in Manhattan. There will not be race day registration.

Awards and post-race

Overall male and female winners and overall masters (40 and over) receive trophies. Other age groups receive medals for first through third place; age groups include 14 and under and five-year increments from 15-19 up to 80 and over. Participants 14 and under receive a participation award. Post-race offerings include snacks and water at the finish and a main festival tent with food, beverages, live music, Irish dancing, and bagpipe bands. Race packets include coupons redeemable for a free beer or non-alcoholic beverage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
