Crete Country Christmas Grinch 5K
This community 5K takes place in Crete, Illinois at Division and Wood Street and supports the Crete Food Pantry. Participants are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to donate on the morning of the event.
Two race categories are offered:
- Crete Country Christmas Grinch 5K, age 13 and over, 3.1 miles
- Crete Country Christmas Grinch 5K, age 12 and under, 3.1 miles
Registration opens July 7, 2026 and closes November 28, 2026. Registration fees differ by category and are listed for each age group. 5K registration includes a race shirt and postrace refreshments such as fruit, water, and granola available in the runner tent.
A separate postrace meal called Breakfast with the Grinch is scheduled after the run; seating times are organized and require separate registration through the event organizer. The event welcomes runners, walkers, and participants using strollers, and encourages festive green attire tied to the Grinch theme. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
