About the race
Manchester Running Festival takes place at Heaton Park in Manchester. The event uses a measured course and all races are chip timed; the timing chip is attached to the race bib and should be secured to an outer garment. Race bibs and race packs are collected at the registration desk on event day.
Race formats mentioned include:
- 5k - age 11 or above
- 10k - age 15 or above
- Half marathon
The event provides a finishers medal, hydration stations, kilometre markers, course marshals, instructor-led warm ups, music on course, and goody bags with sports nutrition items. Standard safety rules apply: dogs are not permitted on the course and standard headphones are not allowed; bone-conduction headphones are permitted.
Registration is handled through the booking partner Let's Do This. Online entries typically close two days before the event unless sold out, and on-the-day entry is normally available at a registration gazebo with typical cash prices of £20 for the 5k and £25 for the 10k. Cut off times are typically 1.5 hours for 5k and 10k races and 3 hours for half marathons. The organiser’s refund and transfer policy allows refunds up to 30 days before the event, transfers or voucher points up to 7 days before, and limited transfer or virtual options within three days. Photos from race day are published on the event website. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
