North Oaks & Middendorf's Manchac Run
The event is a road running program held at Middendorf's Seafood Restaurant on U.S. 51 in Akers, Louisiana on November 7, 2026. It offers timed races over multiple distances and uses an out-and-back course that crosses a bridge.
Distances include:
- 5K
- 10K
- 10 Mile
All official finishers receive custom commemorative medallions. Division awards are presented on race day for overall and age groups across the three distances, with separate awards for race walkers. Sponsors will provide prizes including New Balance shoes for the 1st overall male and female finishers and gift cards for certain local residents in the open divisions.
Packet pickup is available before race day at two listed locations and on the day of the event. Parking is available in Middendorf's lots, across Highway 51, and on the north side of the bridge.
Course support includes six on-course aid stations with water, sports drink, and portable toilets. Postrace refreshments for official entrants include Middendorf's thin fried catfish plate, beverages, fruit, and bakery products.
The event benefits the North Oaks Health Foundation. Entry fees vary by distance and registration date, youth and senior discounts are available during online registration, and all entry fees are non-refundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
