North Oaks & Middendorf's Manchac Run
The North Oaks & Middendorf's Manchac Run takes place in Akers, Louisiana, with the start and finish lines located at Middendorf's Seafood Restaurant. The event benefits the North Oaks Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting the North Oaks Health System. Participants cross a bridge as part of an out-and-back course layout.
The event offers three distinct distances for participants:
- 5K Run or Walk
- 10K Run or Walk
- 10 Mile Run or Walk
The course includes six aid stations providing water, electrolyte drinks, and portable toilets. The course remains open for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Packet pickup is available at locations in New Orleans and Hammond in the days leading up to the event, as well as on-site on the morning of the run.
All official finishers receive custom commemorative medallions. Awards are presented on-site to top finishers in various categories, including Open, Masters, Grand Masters, Seniors, and Youth. Registered entrants have access to post-race refreshments featuring fried catfish, fruit, and various beverages. Parking is available at the restaurant lots and designated areas along Highway 51.
