North Oaks & Middendorf's Manchac Run
This event in Akers, Louisiana on November 7, 2026 offers road race distances on courses that include an out-and-back crossing of a bridge near Middendorf's Seafood Restaurant on US Highway 51. The event benefits the North Oaks Foundation, a nonprofit supporting North Oaks Health System.

Packet pickup is available at two pre-race locations in New Orleans and Hammond, and packets may also be collected at the race site. Parking is available in Middendorf's parking lots, across Highway 51, and on the north side of the bridge.
All official finishers receive a custom commemorative medallion. Division awards are planned for multiple age groups and race-walker categories in each distance, with additional prizes for overall winners; select local-resident awards are sponsored with gift cards. New Balance shoes will be awarded to the first overall male and female finishers across the distances.
The course provides six on-course aid stations supplying Kentwood Spring Water, Gatorade and portable toilets. Race-day refreshments for official entrants include Middendorf's thin fried catfish plate, water, Gatorade, beer, soft drinks, fruit and bakery items. Entry fees are non-refundable.
