MammothMarch Alabama at Oak Mountain State Park
MammothMarch Alabama takes place on April 10 and April 11, 2027, at Oak Mountain State Park, South Trail Head in Pelham, Alabama. The park entrance fee is included with the event ticket and complimentary parking is available on site.
The event is a single-circuit loop covering 20 miles, with a planned completion window of eight hours. There is no official race timing; all participants who complete the distance receive a finisher medal and a personalized certificate. Participants who stop before the finish line receive a certificate indicating the mileage covered. MammothMarch Hiking Passes will be available for new participants and returning participants may collect 2027 stamps on site.
The route follows remote trails inside the park with a total elevation gain of about 2,300 ft. Terrain includes mainly unpaved hiking trails, dirt trails, gravel roads, and forest floor. Aid and refreshment stations are positioned roughly every 5 to 7 miles and provide toilets, food, and drinks. Typical station offerings include water, energy drinks, electrolytes, fruits, cereal or protein bars, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches; these refreshments are included in the ticket cost.
