Course, logistics and rules
The 47 mile route is out-and-back, mostly on the Worcestershire Way, turning at Sally's Place, British Camp, and returning to Abberley Village Hall. Organisers provide downloadable maps, route directions and a GPX file for navigation. The event uses designated checkpoint stations along the route and requires competitors to ensure checkpoint attendants record their number; failure to do so may result in disqualification. The organisers run designated paced groups called Time Lords targeting 11, 12 and 13 hour finishes to help with navigation and pacing.
Competitors must register online before the event and will undergo kit checks. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, OS Map 150 or map, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and a basic first aid kit. Entrants must be at least 20 years old on race day. Finishers receive a bespoke MHU medal and a technical T-shirt, mug or hat. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
