Leominster 5K and 10K Road Race
The Leominster 5K and 10K events take place on the Summer Bank Holiday Monday. Both races utilize the quiet country lanes around Leominster, starting and finishing at the local sports centre. The event uses chip timing for all participants and has an overall entry limit of 300 runners.
Participants can choose between two different distances:
- 5 km: A fast and flat out-and-back course on country lanes.
- 10 km: An undulating route that incorporates the 5 km course.
The event is held under UK Athletics rules with a full race license. For safety reasons, runners are not permitted to use standard headphones; only bone-conducting headphones are allowed. No dogs are permitted on the course. Advanced registration is required, as there are no sign-ups available on the day of the event.
Race headquarters are located at the Bridge Street Sports Centre, where facilities include toilets and limited parking (charges apply). Medical cover is provided for the duration of the event. Participants in the 10 km race pass a water station twice, while water is provided at the finish for those completing the 5 km distance. All finishers receive a medal, and prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in both distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
