Magnolia Days 5K and Kids' Mile
Magnolia Days 5K and Kids’ Mile take place at Hound Song Brewing in Columbus, Texas as part of the Magnolia Days Festival. The event includes two distances:
- 5K
- Kids' Mile
The 5K route runs through the neighborhood adjacent to downtown and starts and finishes at Hound Song Brewing. The course is described as mostly flat and very shaded by large oak trees. There is one water stop approximately at the halfway point. The kids mile is a straight out-and-back route. The course is chip timed, well marked, and has support along the route. The course is stroller friendly.
Registered 5K runners receive a performance fabric event shirt; kids in the kids mile receive a cotton youth shirt. All adult runners with proper ID are eligible for one complementary beer from Hound Song; a nonalcoholic beverage is provided for minors or anyone not selecting beer. Event offerings also include free race photos available online after the race and food available from the Hound Song Kitchen. Packet pickup is available at Hound Song Brewing on the Friday before the race and on race day. There is safe and legal parking near the brewery and downtown.
Awards go to top overall male and female, top overall masters (40 and up), and the top three male and female in standard age-group categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
