Habanero Hundred
The Habanero Hundred is an annual trail running event held in August at the 7IL Ranch in Cat Spring, near Bellville, Texas. The venue consists of over 1,150 acres and includes facilities such as water, electricity, and RV hookups. The event features a variety of endurance distances primarily based on a 10 km loop course.
The event offers several solo and relay options:
- 135 Miles: Reserved for experienced ultra runners.
- 100 Miles: Completed via 16 loops of the 10 km course.
- 100 Kilometers: Completed via 10 loops of the 10 km course.
- 100 Mile Relay: Teams of 2 to 5 people completing 16 loops.
- 100 Kilometer Relay: Teams of 2 to 5 people completing 10 loops.
- 50 Kilometers: Completed via 5 loops of the 10 km course.
- Marathon: 4 loops with specific course additions.
- Half Marathon: 2 loops with a specific course addition.
- 10 Kilometers: A single loop of the course.
The competition is chip-timed, and the 100-mile and 100-km solo distances have a 30-hour cutoff. Finishers of the 100 Mile and 100 Kilometer distances receive belt buckles, while participants in other distances and relay teams receive medals. Pacing is permitted for the 135 Mile, 100 Mile, and 100 Kilometer solo events after specific distances are completed. Pacers must register and are allowed to assist their runners by muling.
