Course and Logistics
All races take place on the Sandridge Trail. The courses are looped. The half marathon runs a 6.65-mile loop twice, the 14K runs a 4.2-mile loop twice, and the 7K runs the same 4.2-mile loop once. The trail is described as wide, non-technical, and "flat-ish."
The event is a cupless race; participants must carry their own hydration pack or bottle. There is one main aid station for all events and a second aid station for half marathon runners approximately halfway through each loop. Stations provide water, electrolytes, and standard fare. A complimentary hot meal, cooked on a Blackstone grill, is provided for all runners and volunteers. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the state forest property.
Participants receive a custom-made medal with a Latin theme. Awards are given for Overall, Master's, and Grand Master's divisions, as well as a "Slow A$$" award to honor back-of-the-pack participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
