Madison Turkey Trot (Madison, WI)
The Madison Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning running event in Madison, Wisconsin, held on November 26, 2026. The event includes a chip-timed 5K and a Kids Dash, and entrants may participate as runners or walkers.

Participants receive commemorative event gear with a runner’s choice between a classic t-shirt or an upgraded thin-tec soft polyester pullover. Finish-line items include a finisher medal and Greenbush Bakery donuts. The 5K course has a posted time limit of 1 hour 20 minutes. All water stations provide water; there is no gear check on site.
The event uses chip timing integrated with the bib. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall; age groups range from 10 & under up to 70+. Kids Dash finishers receive a finisher award. Participant must be present on event day to receive awards; uncollected medals may be mailed for a fee.
The race starts and finishes at the Alliant Energy Center, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, WI. Free parking is available at the Alliant Energy Center (enter from Rimrock Rd); parking at Olin Park is not permitted. The event is part of the nationwide Thankful Turkey Run/Walk and includes virtual options with mailed packets arriving 1–2 weeks after race day.
