About the race
Birdie Derby is a Thanksgiving morning running and walking event produced by Active Youth Wisconsin and held at Fitchburg Business Park in Fitchburg, WI. The event includes timed road races, free youth activities, race village amenities, and post-race refreshments. Organizers state that 100% of proceeds remain local to support Active Youth Wisconsin programs including financial aid and the Grants 4 Schools program.
Available distances and options:
- 100 yards Kids Dash for ages 2 to 6, free with an adult registration.
- 5K run or walk.

The Kids Dash is untimed and every participant receives a bib and finisher medal. Children ages 4 to 6 may register for both the Kids Dash and the 5K for an additional fee; children under age 10 must be accompanied by a guardian during the 5K or 10K. Stroller policies are described for both running and walking participants.
