Mactaquac Trail Race : Mactaquac Provincial Park, October 2026
The race takes place in Mactaquac Provincial Park on the west side of Route 105. A large parking area on Route 105 serves as the main parking; runners walk a few hundred metres to the start at the small parking lot by the Beaver Pond.
Trails include single and double track. The course is not very hilly but is seldom flat. Runners cross a stream twice and several bridges. Sections can be slippery and exposed roots occur, so trail awareness is important.
Distances offered
- 5K - new course, first half easier, second half more technical
- 10K - one loop
- 20K - two loops
The event spans two days: a kids run and the 5K take place on Saturday, while the 10K and 20K are scheduled for Sunday with awards and draw prizes afterwards. The 5K has a reduced service level, manual timing rather than electronic, and a lower fee; participants still receive the event swag. Draw prizes are primarily for Sunday events.
Key practical details: there is no on-site registration, no refunds or deferrals, and no waiting list when the event sells out though a transfer period will open. Dogs and strollers are not allowed. A bag drop is available. The event aims to be nearly cup-less at water stations, so participants must bring their own cup, bottle, or hydration bladder. Massage services are provided by massage therapy students on Sunday. No official course map is provided, but reconnaissance runs will be announced on the event Facebook page.
