Lyme Half Marathon
The Lyme Half Marathon is a trail running event located in the grounds of Lyme National Trust in Cheshire. The course begins and ends against the backdrop of Lyme Hall, taking participants through the Peak District landscape. The route is fully marked and marshalled, incorporating electronic timing for all runners.
The course initially follows the Gritstone Trail heading south over varied terrain. It then traverses Kerridge Ridge, passing the White Nancy landmark and continuing towards Bollington. The final section of the route transitions to the Macclesfield Canal, providing a flatter surface for the return leg back to the finish line at Lyme.
The following distance is available:
- Half Marathon (approx. 21.1 km)
Participants have a four-hour cut-off time to complete the distance. The event includes two aid stations stocked with supplies along the route. For navigation safety, it is recommended that runners download the GPX file of the course to a wearable device.
Practical facilities include a bag drop tent located at the start line and parking in the main car park, which is included in the entry fee. Registration and bib collection take place on the morning of the event at the race village. Participants can choose to receive a bespoke finishers medal or opt to have a tree planted through the Trees Not Tees organization. Canicross entries are not permitted for this event.
