The Bullock Smithy Ultra

The Bullock Smithy Ultra, organized by the 3rd Hazel Grove Scout Group, is a demanding 56-mile circular hike or ultra-run held annually in the Peak District, starting and finishing in Hazel Grove. Taking place over the first full weekend in September, this 24-hour event challenges participants to navigate an unmarked course using maps and compasses through a mix of public footpaths, bridleways, and roads. The route includes multiple checkpoints offering refreshments, and finishers receive a Full English breakfast and a timed certificate.
