Lunch Lady Hustle 5K Run/Walk
The Lunch Lady Hustle is an annual event held at Coldstream Park and the Legacy Trail in Lexington, Kentucky. The race features a flat course on paved and concrete trail surfaces with minimal elevation changes. This event supports the Fayette County School Nutrition Association, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships and professional development for school nutrition employees and students.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5K Run/Walk: A 3.1 mile chip-timed race on paved surfaces.
- Kids Dash: An untimed 0.25 mile fun run for children ages 2-10.
- Virtual Runner/Walker: A 3.1 mile option for participants across the United States.
The 5K course is an out-and-back route with two hydration stations located at the 1.4-mile and 1.9-mile marks. The start and finish area is situated on the east end of the Coldstream Dog Park. The event welcomes walkers, strollers, and dogs on fixed-length leashes.
Awards are provided for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in five-year age groups ranging from 0-14 to 80+. Participation in the Kids Dash includes a finisher’s medal. The event also includes a costume contest for the best-dressed lunch lady and the Lunch Lady Challenge, where participants attempt to outrun a designated runner. Registration discounts are available for social teams of five or more people. Packet pickup is conducted on-site on the morning of the event.
