Lunch Lady Hustle 5K Run/Walk
The 7th annual Lunch Lady Hustle 5K Run/Walk takes place May 8, 2027 at Coldstream Park/Legacy Trail in Lexington, Kentucky. The event includes in-person races, a virtual option, a kids dash, and volunteer opportunities, and it supports the Fayette County School Nutrition Association scholarship programs.
Distances offered:
- 3.1 Miles chip timed 5K run/walk, paved surfaces
- 0.25 Miles untimed kids dash for ages 2 to 10
- 3.1 Miles virtual runner/walker option with commemorative shirt mailed
The in-person 5K is chip timed with awards presented to top finishers; walkers, strollers, and dogs on fixed length leashes are welcomed on the paved course. The kids dash is an untimed 1/4 mile event; participating children receive a finisher medal and no awards are given for that event. A virtual runner/walker option is available for participants who choose to complete a 5K on their own schedule.
Course details: out and back on paved/concrete trail surfaces with very little elevation change. There are two hydration stations along the route at Mile 1.4 and 1.9. Common start and finish location is on the east end of the Coldstream Dog Park area.
Organizing and race features: the Fayette County School Nutrition Association presents the race and directs proceeds to student and employee scholarship programs. Race features include commemorative shirts, decade-based awards for top finishers, free race photos, a Best Dressed Lunch Lady contest, and a volunteer program needing 6 to 8 people for a 3.5-hour shift.
