Event details
The Lumphanan Detox 10k takes place in Lumphanan, Scotland, on 2 January 2026. The race distance is 10 km. Entry fees are listed as £23 for UKA-affiliated club runners and £25 for non-affiliated club runners. An administration fee is applied to each order by the online entry system partner. Course
The course is an almost circular 10 km route. The first 2 km include a long, steady incline. Routes A and B share the same layout for the first 6.5 km. Route A then veers off the tarmac onto a farm track for about 1 km; this off-road section includes a short incline and may have tricky footing. Route B remains on the road and includes an additional climb around 7.5 km before the final descent into the village. The organisers reserve the right to use Route B for safety reasons.
Safety and facilities
No dogs are allowed except guide dogs. Buggies and prams are prohibited. Runners must keep to the right-hand side of the road and have only one ear covered by music devices. A lead car with a flashing beacon will precede the race and marshalls will be positioned around the route. Traffic has the right of way on public roads. There is no water station on the route; runners are asked to bring containers and fill from a barrel outside registration. Qualified first aiders are stationed at the hall.
Prizes and post-race
Prizes are awarded to the first and second male and female finishers in each category and to the first male and female local. A course record prize is available. Prize giving is held in the school hall. Runners receive a commemorative gift and a cereal bar at the finish, and homemade soup with hot or cold beverages is served in the school hall after the race.
