Distances
- 10 km
Course
The course is an almost circular 10 km route. Routes A and B share the same first 6.5 km. The race begins with a long steady incline of about 2 km. On Route A most of the remaining distance is downhill or flat. At about 6.5 km Route A veers onto a farm track for roughly 1 km; this off-road section may be tricky. If the farm track is too muddy or dangerous the organisers will use Route B, which stays on the road and includes an additional climb around 7.5 km before a final descent into the village.
Safety, facilities and prizes
Runners must not bring dogs except guide dogs and no buggies or prams are allowed. Competitors should run on the right-hand side of the road and keep only one ear covered by a music device. A lead car with a flashing beacon and course marshalls will be in place. There is no water station on the route; runners are asked to bring containers and fill them from a barrel outside registration. Qualified first aiders are stationed at the hall. Prize giving is held in the school hall; a course record prize is available and the female record is listed as 35:44. Commemorative gifts, a cereal bar at the finish and soup with hot or cold beverages are provided after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
