Lumphanan Detox 10K
Lumphanan Detox is a 10 km event taking place on 02 January 2027 in Lumphanan, Scotland. The venue for registration and post‑race facilities is Lumphanan School Hall on School Road, AB31 4SU.
The course is an almost circular route that begins with a long steady incline lasting about 2 km. For Route A the route is largely downhill or flat after the initial climb. At about 6.5 km Route A leaves the tarmac and follows a farm track for roughly 1 km; this off‑road section may have tricky conditions. Route B follows the road instead and includes an additional climb around 7.5 km. Routes A and B are the same for the first 6.5 km. Any athlete who withdraws must report to a course marshal and to the finish marshals.
Entry fees are listed as £23 for UKA affiliated club runners and £25 for non‑affiliated club runners. Scottish Athletics and other UKA memberships can be validated during registration to obtain the appropriate discount. An administration fee is applied by the online entry partner. There are no on the day entries and no refunds for withdrawals or non attendance. The event lists 371 remaining places.
Practical details include a bag drop in the Village Hall, no water stations on the route so runners should bring their own containers and fill from the barrel outside registration, and qualified first aiders stationed at the hall. Safety rules note that only guide dogs are allowed, no buggies or prams are permitted, runners must use the right hand side of the road, only one ear may be covered by any music device, and traffic has the right of way. A lead car with a flashing beacon will precede the race and marshals will be positioned around the route.
Prize giving is held in the School Hall and prize money is doubled for 2027. Awards include first and second male and female finishers in each category, first male and female local awards, and course record prizes with the male record at 30:50 and the female record at 35:44. Finishers receive a commemorative gift and a cereal bar, and homemade soup plus hot or cold beverages are provided in the School Hall after the race.
