Picardy 5k 2026
Picardy 5k is a community fundraising 5 km run held in Insch, Aberdeenshire, with activity centred on Recreation Park and Bennachie Leisure Centre on Largie Road. The event is organised by Jog Scotland Insch and Bennachie Leisure Centre to raise funds for the Bennachie Leisure Centre Charity. Organisers have applied for a Scottish Event Licence.
The route was designed by members of Jog Scotland, Insch, and takes in the village of Insch and surrounding countryside. Entry is by suggested donation of £15, with fees applying, and is open to participants aged 12 years and over. Entry and timing are managed by Thistle Timing; timing chips are included with race numbers and results will be posted by the timing provider.
Facilities on site include changing rooms, toilets and showers, a secure bag drop at the leisure centre, and food and refreshments from the café plus a barbecue and visiting ice cream van. Rainbow runs organised by Insch Primary will take place during the event day and there will be a prizegiving. All finishers will receive a specially designed medal.
Parking is available at the Bennachie Leisure Centre front car park and the Insch village car park; local residents are asked to walk to the centre where possible. Note that the route includes some road crossings; roads will not be closed and participants remain responsible for their own safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
