Picardy 5K in Insch, Aberdeenshire
Picardy 5K is a community fundraising road run taking place on 22 August 2026 in Insch. The event is organised by Jog Scotland Insch and Bennachie Leisure Centre to raise money for the Bennachie Leisure Centre Charity. Entry is by a suggested donation of £15 and is open to participants aged 12 years and over. All finishers receive a specially designed medal.
The course was planned by members of Jog Scotland, Insch, and runs through the village and surrounding countryside, starting and finishing at the Recreation Park and Bennachie Leisure Centre on Largie Road. Entry and timing are managed by Thistle Timing; timing chips are included with race numbers and results will be published by the timing provider. Facilities at Bennachie Leisure Centre include changing rooms, toilets, showers and a secure bag drop, and there will be a café and refreshments on site. Parking is available at the leisure centre front car park and the Insch village car park, and organisers ask local residents to walk where possible. Marshals will assist at some road crossings but roads will not be closed, so participants are responsible for their own safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
