Picardy 5k 2026
The Picardy 5k is a community fundraising event in Insch, Aberdeenshire, organised by Jog Scotland Insch and Bennachie Leisure Centre to support the Bennachie Leisure Centre Charity. The event in 2026 is the second running of the 5k and has applied for a Scottish Event Licence.
The race takes place at Recreation Park and Bennachie Leisure Centre on Largie Road, Insch. Entry is by a suggested donation of £15 and all proceeds will support wellbeing and community services provided at Bennachie Leisure Centre. Entry and timing are provided by Thistle Timing and timing chips are included with the race number. Results will be posted on Thistle Timing results.
The route was created by members of Jog Scotland, Insch, and runs through the village and surrounding countryside. All finishers receive a specially designed medal. There are a few road crossings on the course; marshals will assist on the day but roads will not be closed and personal responsibility for safety remains with each participant.
On the day there are additional activities organised by local groups, including rainbow runs by Insch Primary, refreshments from the café, a barbecue and a visiting ice cream van. Facilities at Bennachie Leisure Centre include changing rooms, toilets, showers and a secure bag drop. Parking is available at the leisure centre front car park and at the Insch village car park.
