Picardy 5k 2026, Insch
The Picardy 5k is a community fundraising 5 km road race taking place in Insch, Aberdeenshire on 22 August 2026. The event is organised in partnership by Jog Scotland Insch and Bennachie Leisure Centre to support the Bennachie Leisure Centre Charity. An application for a Scottish Event Licence has been submitted.
Entry is open to people aged 12 years and over on the day. Entry is a suggested donation of £15 and entry and timing are provided by Thistle Timing. Timing chips are included with the race number and results will be posted by the timing provider.
The route was created by members of Jog Scotland Insch and takes in the village of Insch and surrounding countryside. The event day includes community activities such as Rainbow runs organised by Insch Primary, food from the café, a barbecue and a visiting ice cream van. Prizegiving is part of the day's programme and all finishers receive a specially designed medal.
Facilities at Bennachie Leisure Centre include changing rooms, toilets, showers and a secure bag drop. Parking is available at the Bennachie Leisure Centre front car park and at the Insch village car park; local residents are asked to walk to the centre where possible. Participants should note there are a few road crossings; marshals will assist but roads will not be closed and personal safety remains the responsibility of each participant.
