Lucky Leprechaun 5k and 1 Mile Run/Walk
The Lucky Leprechaun 5k and 1 Mile Run/Walk takes place in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The event is hosted at AJ's On the Bayou and features a course that traverses the Beachview neighborhood. Participants can choose between several participation options:
- 5k Running
- 5k Walking
- 1 Mile Run/Walk
The 5k course is described as fast and flat. The 1 Mile event is an untimed option for those who prefer a shorter distance. The first 400 registered participants who complete their event are guaranteed a finisher medal. All participants in the 1 Mile event receive a race t-shirt and entry to the post-race gathering.
Awards are presented for various categories in the 5k events. For runners, awards include Overall Male and Female, Master, Grandmaster, and Senior Grandmaster, as well as the top three finishers in five-year age groups. For the walking category, awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers. There are no competitive awards for the 1 Mile distance.
The event includes an after-party at AJ's On the Bayou featuring food, beverages, and live music. Participants are encouraged to wear St. Paddy's Day costumes. Proceeds from the event are directed to the Northwest Florida Track Club to support local school running programs.
