Round the Bay Relay and Ultra
The Round the Bay Relay and Ultra is a running event held on a 36.8 mile course around Choctawhatchee Bay in the Destin / Northwest Florida area. The event is offered as both a relay and an ultra and the route is divided into six unofficial legs that follow roads around the bay.
The 16th annual edition is set for Sunday, December 27, 2026. Ultra registration is open and relay registration opens soon. The event uses staggered starting times for teams and ultra runners; schedules and starting times are published as the race date approaches. Participants are expected to read the published race rules.
A separate 5K Bloody Mary Beach Recovery Run takes place in Fort Walton Beach at the end of the year. The Island Resort serves as the Official Overnight Destination and provides special discount rates at an oceanfront resort. 2026 sponsors include UnitedHealthcare.
