Round the Bay Relay and Ultra
The Round the Bay Relay and Ultra is a relay and ultra running event that follows a 36.8 mile course around Choctawhatchee Bay in the Destin and Northwest Florida area. The event has traditionally been held in the last week of the year; the 16th annual edition is listed for Sunday, December 27, 2026 as a tentative date. The 2025 event reported excellent weather, three course records and a strong turnout.
The course is divided into six unofficial legs that traverse public roads around the bay. Distances associated with the event include:
- 36.8 mile relay and ultra around Choctawhatchee Bay
- 5K Bloody Mary Beach Recovery Run in Fort Walton Beach
Event logistics note that registration is available online or via a downloadable form. Staggered starting times are used for teams and ultra runners; starting times are published in advance.
