Reindeer Dash 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The Reindeer Dash is a holiday running event in Fort Walton Beach that supports the Fort Walton Beach Fire Department Toy Drive. It offers two distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The course is described as fast and flat and runs through the Beachview Area. All participants receive a long sleeve performance cotton T‑shirt. A unique finisher's medal that converts to a Christmas ornament is offered; finisher's medals are reserved for the first 500 registered participants. The event includes an awards presentation with collector's edition Christmas ornament awards; this year’s ornament is to be determined.
Awards for the 5K include overall male and female, Master and Grandmaster, plus male and female 3 deep in five year age groups. The 5K walker division awards the top three overall male and female. The 1 Mile Fun Run provides a finisher's medal and event T‑shirt but has no age group awards.
Packet pickup is available Friday, December 11 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Run With It, 21 Racetrack Rd. NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547, and on race day at AJ's On The Bayou, 200 Eglin Pkwy NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547. The event is held rain or shine and refunds are not available. Registration will close once 500 participants are registered; a no‑medal registration option will open thereafter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
