Reindeer Dash 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run : Fort Walton Beach
The event includes two distances:
- 5K run and walk through Fort Walton Beach's Beachview Area.
- 1 Mile Fun Run with a finisher medal and event shirt.
The 5K course is described as fast and flat. All participants receive a long sleeve performance cotton T-shirt. A unique finisher's medal that converts to a Christmas ornament is planned; finisher medals are guaranteed to the first 500 registered participants. The medal is part of a collector's edition series with a different ornament each year; the design for this year is to be determined.
Awards for 5K runners include overall male and female, master and grandmaster, plus male and female awards three deep in five year age groups. 5K walkers receive top three overall male and female awards. There are no age group awards for the 1 Mile Fun Run.
Packet pick up is available at Run With It (21 Racetrack Rd. NE, Fort Walton Beach) and at AJ's On the Bayou (200 Eglin Pkwy NE, Fort Walton Beach). An awards ceremony and afterparty are held at AJ's On the Bayou, located across Eglin Parkway just west of the finish line, with food, beer, soft drinks and live music.
