Lucky Dog 5K - Milwaukee
The Lucky Dog 5k in Franklin, Wisconsin is scheduled for March 28, 2026. The event is a timed chip race scored by J3 Timing, with results posted by J3 Timing after the event. The course starts and finishes at Grove 5 in Greenfield Park and follows a mostly out and back route that splits to make a full loop around the pond.
The event supports Rescue Gang, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by volunteers that operates out of foster homes and provides medical care tailored to each animal's needs. Dogs are welcome to participate on course and are not required to register separately.
Registration for the 5k includes a short sleeve shirt with an option to upgrade to a long sleeve shirt, a finisher medal, a dog charm or dog medal option, a chip timed race bib, and live race results. Finish line treats are provided for both humans and dogs. Optional swag upgrades mentioned include a dog hoodie and a doggie medal. Packet pickup is available race day only at the event.
Awards are presented to overall male and female finishers and to the top three in the following age groups: 9 and under, 10 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
