Love is Love 5k Run/Walk
The Love is Love 5k Run/Walk takes place at Bluhm County Park in Westville, Indiana on June 21, 2026. Proceeds from the event benefit LGBTQ+ Outreach of Porter County.
The event offers a combined run and walk over a 5 kilometer route. The turnaround and water stop are located at the 1.5 mile mark; participants follow the same marked route back to the finish. The course is marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns. There are no bathrooms on the course.
Packet pick-up, race day sign-ups, and post-race snacks are located at the park shelter near the parking lot. Timing for runners uses a simple system: after finishing each runner receives a numbered popsicle stick that indicates overall place and must be turned in to volunteers at the shelter. Medals for the top three in each age group are distributed after the stick is turned in. There is no formal awards ceremony. Runners are asked to place their bib on the front of their shirts. All participants start together with walkers positioned toward the back and runners toward the front.
The event is part of the Crazy Legs Race Series, which promotes pavement and non-pavement races in Northwest Indiana, holds events in local parks, and affirms inclusive registration practices for transgender and all other participants. The organizers also acknowledge the Indigenous nations that originally stewarded the land used for the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
