Love is Love 5k Run/Walk
Love is Love is a 5 km community run and walk held at Bluhm County Park in Westville, Indiana on June 21, 2026. Proceeds from the event benefit LGBTQ+ Outreach of Porter County. Packet pick up, race day sign ups, and postrace snacks are available at the shelter near the park parking lot.
Event entries include:
- 5 km Run
- Non competitive 5 km Walk
All participants start together across the street from the parking lot; runners are asked to position themselves near the front and walkers toward the back. Runners should wear their bibs on the front of their shirts. Timing is done with a popsicle stick system where each finisher receives a stick showing overall place; runners should return the stick to volunteers at the shelter as soon as possible. Top three finishers in each age group receive medals when they turn in their stick. There is no formal awards ceremony.
The route uses a turnaround at the 1.5 mile mark and follows the same course back to the finish. The course is marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns. There are no bathrooms on the course. After finishing, snacks, water, and Powerade are available at the shelter. Selected Crazy Legs Race Series items will be sold for ten dollars with proceeds going to the same beneficiary.
The event is presented by the Crazy Legs Race Series, which promotes park and regional races in Northwest Indiana and states an inclusion policy for participants of all gender identities. The series also acknowledges that the race land is the seized territory of the Miami, Shawnee, and Illinois Nations and notes historical presence of the Lenape Delaware people.
