Turkey Toss 4 Miler Road Run
The event is scheduled for November 27, 2026, at Hawthorne Park, 500 Ackerman Drive, Porter, IN 46304. It is a four mile road run that follows a two mile out and back route on pavement and bike trail. The route is marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns.
Packet pick up, race day sign ups, food and bathrooms are located in the community center. Water, snacks, coffee, and Gatorade are provided after the race. Organizers note that conditions are expected to be cold and the community center is available for warming up after the event.
All runners receive a turkey hat. Finishers receive a numbered popsicle stick that is collected at the community center for timing. The event includes a Turkey Bowling feature using a four pound frozen turkey; one raffle ticket is included in the goodie bag and extra tickets are available for purchase. Six raffle winners get a chance to bowl two shots to knock down plastic pins and win prizes; additional winners are selected to bowl after the field finishes.
Used Crazy Legs Race Series t shirts and other items are offered for sale at five dollars, with proceeds designated for the Porter Parks Department.
