Turkey Toss 4 Miler Road Run
Scheduled for November 27, 2026, the Turkey Toss 4 Miler takes place at Hawthorne Park, 500 Ackerman Drive, Porter, IN 46304.
The event covers a total of 4 miles using a 2 mile out and back route. The course runs on pavement and bike trail and will be marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns.
Timing is manual. Finishers receive a numbered popsicle stick at the finish and are required to return that stick to staff at the community center. Packet pick up and race day sign ups, as well as food and restrooms, are located in the community center. Water, snacks, coffee, and Gatorade are provided after the race.
Organizers note cold weather is expected and the community center is available for warming after the event. Each participant will receive a turkey hat.
The event includes a Turkey Bowling activity using a 4 pound frozen turkey. Raffle winners will have a chance to bowl for prizes; one raffle ticket is included in the goodie bag and extra tickets are available for purchase for one dollar. Bowlers receive two attempts and a strike or spare wins a prize.
Used Crazy Legs Race Series t shirts and other items will be sold for five dollars with proceeds donated to the Porter Parks Department. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
