Lost 118 Ultra - Lake Okeechobee, FL - Feb 28, 2026

The Lost 118 Ultra is a 118 mile loop run on the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST) around Lake Okeechobee. The 20th annual event offers a crewed 118 mile division and a solo self-supported cart division; previous relay and 100k options are not offered. The route follows the Herbert Hoover Levee around the lake, begins and ends in Clewiston, and is run counterclockwise.

The trail is a 10 foot wide paved asphalt path except for about 15 miles of hard packed, crushed shell double track. There are 22 designated crew access points and several other informal contact points. Brief roadway sections are required to cross canals and rivers; on those sections runners must run facing traffic and wear appropriate road safety gear. The entire route is exposed with no shade or tree cover.

Crew is mandatory for the crewed 118 mile division. Solo self-supported cart runners must carry all supplies on a cart, may accept free aid but may not pre-plan outside support, and must have a standby crew able to extract them and the cart if needed. Solo cart rules include finishing with the same cart, no dumping liquids before mile 105, and returning to the exact levee spot after any resupply. At the start the cart must contain enough food and drink for 50 miles (at least 2 gallons / 8 liters and 2,000 calories), a map of convenience stores, hat or buff, working cell phone with spare battery, GPX track, headlamp with spare batteries, extra clothing for storms and an emergency blanket.

Runners must reach the halfway mark within 18 hours and finish the loop within 38 hours. There is one aid station at the halfway point in Lake Okeechobee Park. The event is chip timed with electronic sensors and live updates, offers buckles for finishers within the 38 hour limit, and has a registration fee of $118. Registration closes on February 15, 2026; a full refund is available for cancellations made before December 31, 2025, with no refunds after that date.
