Event overview

Death at DuPuis is a last-person-standing backyard-style running event scheduled for February 7, 2026, in Canal Point, Florida. Registration closes on February 1, 2026. The event is organized as a not-for-profit fundraiser in support of the Loxahatchee chapter of the Florida Trail Association (FTA).

Course and format

All entrants run a single loop of 4.166667 miles within the DuPuis Management Area. The loop restarts every hour and the race continues hourly until only one runner can complete the loop on time or all participants stop. Runners receive audible warnings at three, two and one minute before each hourly cutoff. Cooler space, chairs and canopies will be available near the start/finish on a first-come, first-served basis.

Site and support

The DuPuis Management Area is a 21,875-acre multi-use natural area in northwestern Palm Beach and southwestern Martin counties. The property includes ponds, wet prairies, cypress domes, pine flatwoods and remnant Everglades marsh, plus hiking trails, an equestrian center, campsites, a nature center, boardwalk and a partially covered fishing pier. The event organizer aims for a minimum donation of $2,000 to the Loxahatchee FTA and reports previous donations exceeding $10,000. Entry fees are nonrefundable; fees from dropouts are directed to the local FTA donation pot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
