Death at DuPuis (A Backyard Event)

Death at DuPuis is a last person standing running event scheduled for February 6, 2027 in Canal Point, Florida. The event follows a backyard format held on trails in the DuPuis Management Area and is presented as an Athletic Soul Foundation event organized by Mule Racing.

Participants run a repeated loop of 4.166667 mile on natural-surface trails. The race restarts at the top of each hour and continues hour by hour until only one runner is able to complete the loop on time or all participants withdraw. Organizers signal approaching hour cutoffs with a warning whistle at three, two and one minute before the hour. Coolers, chairs and canopies will be available at the start and finish on a first come first serve basis.

The event is run as not for profit. Organizers will collect donations and aim for a minimum $2000 donation to the Loxahatchee chapter of the Florida Trail Association; past events have contributed over $10,000 to the FTA. There are no refunds for competitors who drop; entry fees from dropouts are directed into the donation pot for the local FTA chapter. Winners may earn a Bronze Ticket that grants entry to Capital in Virginia and the organizer awards a $1000 stipend to the winner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
