Event overview

Death at DuPuis is a backyard-style, last-person-standing running event held on February 7, 2026, in Canal Point, Florida. All entrants run repeated laps of a single loop. Each lap is 4.166667 miles. The race restarts at the top of each hour and continues until only one runner completes a loop on time or all participants stop. Warning whistles sound at 3, 2 and 1 minute before each hourly restart.

Registration for the event closes on February 1. The event is organized as a not-for-profit and collects donations for the local Loxahatchee chapter of the FTA. Organizers provide FTA membership information at the event.

Venue, course and support

The course is on trails in the DuPuis Management Area, a 21,875-acre natural area in northwestern Palm Beach and southwestern Martin counties. The area includes ponds, wet prairies, cypress domes, pine flatwoods and remnant Everglades marsh. DuPuis offers hiking and equestrian trails, boardwalks, a nature center and primitive camping. Coolers, chairs and canopies may be set up at the start/finish area on a first-come, first-served basis.

Race costs cover event basics such as shirts, porta potties, awards and timing, with a stated minimum donation goal of $2,000 to the Loxahatchee FTA chapter and a history of over $10,000 donated previously. There are no refunds for entrants who drop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
