Lake to Ocean 100K
The Lake to Ocean 100K is a point to point trail race held on June 5, 2027, organized by Mule Racing in Port Mayaka, FL. The course runs from the NENA trailhead in Port Mayaka to Hobe Sound beach on mostly single track remote trail and covers a distance of 100K.
The route passes through a variety of Florida ecosystems, including ancient sand dunes with scrub oak and sand pine, pine flatwoods, palmetto, palm and oak hammocks, cypress domes, and wet prairies. Wildlife observed along the trail can include deer, alligators, otters, owls, snakes, bobcats, coyotes and various Florida wading birds. In 2023, Outside online named the Lake to Ocean trail one of the top 10 most beautiful trails in the world.
Runners face an 18 hour strict time limit. The race requires each entrant to have a support crew; crew access points are located at miles 15, 22, 31, 37 and 48. Organizers note they can recruit a crew for racers who fly in and do not have one. A finisher reward described by organizers is a buoy presented to finishers.
Registration information and entrant lists are maintained by the organizer. The event is scheduled as an offline, in person race in Port Mayaka, FL. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
