Course and logistics
The route is mostly single-track remote trail. Reported wildlife along the route includes deer, alligators, otters, owls, snakes, bobcats, coyotes, and various wading birds.
There is an 18 hour strict time limit. A crew is required for each runner. Crew stops are located at 15, 22, 31, 37, and 48 miles. Organizers indicate they will try to recruit a crew for runners who fly in and do not have one. A finishers buoy is awarded to finishers.
