Event overview
Loop the Lemur at the Ross Park Zoo takes place on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Ross Park Zoo, 60 Morgan Road, Binghamton, NY 13903. The event offers four timed options: a 6-hour, 2-hour, 1-hour, and the Little Lemur Kids Fun Run for ages 1 to 14. Each event consists of repeating a single 0.8 mile loop inside the zoo.
Course, rules and timing
The course is a 0.8 mile loop within the zoo. Only completed laps count toward a participant’s total, and one completed lap qualifies as an official finish. Runners and walkers share the path. Crew is not allowed on course and participants may not receive aid or support outside the designated aid station area. Pacing is not allowed. Headphones are strongly discouraged and may lead to disqualification if they contribute to an accident.
Amenities, awards and conservation
An aid station will be provided for the 6-hour and 2-hour events. Participants are encouraged to bring a personal drop bag to keep at the lemur area for access during laps; accepting nutrition or support from spectators on course may result in disqualification. Portable toilets are available at the start and halfway points. All registrants receive a custom shirt and medal; shirt availability is guaranteed for registrations completed by April 30. Awards include overall and podium places by gender and a team award for most laps. A portion of proceeds supports Ross Park Zoo conservation efforts. Photos of participants may be displayed in the lemur habitat. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
