Event Overview
The Loop the Lemur at the Ross Park Zoo is a timed running and walking event held in Binghamton, New York. Participants navigate a .8-mile loop located entirely within the zoo grounds. The event is designed for all ability levels, allowing participants to run, walk, or stroll at their own pace.
Participants can choose from three distinct events:
- Loop the Lemur 2 Hour
- Loop the Lemur 1 Hour
- Little Lemur Kids Run (open to ages 1-12)
Course and Experience
The course takes participants past various animal exhibits. Along the loop, runners and walkers will see red wolves, leopards, binturongs, owls, arctic foxes, howler monkeys, red pandas, and the zoo’s lemurs, Menabe and Rizzo. Registered participants receive a custom shirt, a custom medal, and admission to the zoo for the day.
Awards for the most laps completed are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the team with the most total laps. 100% of the net proceeds from the event go directly to the Ross Park Zoo to support animal care and wildlife conservation efforts.
