Loop the Lemur at Ross Park Zoo
Loop the Lemur at the Ross Park Zoo takes place on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Ross Park Zoo in Binghamton, NY. The event features timed efforts on a 0.8 mile loop inside the zoo, with events listed as Loop the Lemur 6 Hour, Loop the Lemur 2 Hour, Loop the Lemur 1 Hour, and the Little Lemur Kids Fun Run for ages 1 to 14. Each timed event consists of completing the same 0.8 mile loop as many times as a participant wishes.
Only completed laps count toward a total and one completed lap qualifies as an official finish. Runners and walkers share the course at the same time. Headphones are strongly discouraged and wearing them may result in disqualification if an accident occurs. Pacing and on course crew support are not allowed. Participants may not receive aid or support outside the designated aid station area.
An aid station is provided for the 6 hour and 2 hour events. Participants are encouraged to bring a drop bag to keep at the lemur area and access it each lap. Bathrooms inside and outside the zoo are available, and portable toilets are provided near the start and halfway points of the loop. All registrants receive a custom Loop the Lemur shirt and a custom medal, with shirt guarantees for registrations completed by April 30.
Awards are planned for overall male and female, second and third place male and female, and team with the most laps. One hundred percent of net proceeds go directly to Ross Park Zoo conservation efforts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
