Heart Strong 5K and Festival at MacArthur Park
The festival takes place on June 7, 2026 at MacArthur Park, 1079 Vestal Ave, Binghamton, NY 13903. The program includes a USATF-certified 5K road race on a 3.1 mile course that starts and finishes in MacArthur Park and loops through Binghamton's southwest side. A separate entry category is available for participants 17 and under with a reduced fee. Strollers are permitted for walkers who start at the back of the pack. Dogs are not allowed on the course.
Prize structure for the 5K includes cash awards for the top three overall male and female finishers and for the top three masters (40 and over) male and female finishers. Additional non-cash prizes and gift cards are awarded to top three finishers in standard age groups from 19 and under through 70 and over. General registration fees are listed per entry category; registration closes May 28, 2026.
The festival also features a 16-team All-American kickball tournament using three fields in the park. The tournament is double elimination, requires a minimum of ten players per team, and includes ten team shirts with registration. Team registration is priced per team with payment options noted by the organizer. Concessions, a basket raffle, and a free Kids Fun Zone with bouncy houses, a dunk tank, games, and face painting are part of the event.
