Inverness Half Marathon
The Inverness Half Marathon is a spring running event in the Highland capital of Inverness. It offers two managed race options and follows a route that passes city landmarks and riverside sections close to the centre of Inverness.
- Half marathon
- 5K fun run
The route begins alongside the banks of the River Ness and travels through parts of the city that are highlighted on the official course map. Water stations are provided along the course and there is one High5 gel station. The event uses paper cups at water stations to reduce single use plastic.
Entry for the half marathon includes a finisher’s technical t shirt, a finisher’s medal, an event giveaway, timed results and a downloadable digital finisher certificate. Results are published provisionally after the race and are confirmed a few working days later for submission to national ranking services.
Participants must be aged 17 or over on the day of the event. The organiser sets a cut off time of 3 hours 30 minutes for completion. Event packs for UK entrants are posted in late February; overseas entrants are asked to collect their pack at the Sports Hall, Inverness Leisure. A baggage drop is available at the Sports Centre on race morning.
There is no wheelchair category in the half marathon; wheelchair participants are invited to take part in the 5K event. Support runner places can be requested for eligible participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
