About the race
The Inverness Half Marathon is a springtime road race over 13.1 miles through the Highland capital of Inverness. The route starts alongside the banks of the River Ness near the city centre and passes a number of local landmarks before the city finish.
Entries are open to participants aged 17 and over. Event entry includes an optional finisher's technical t-shirt, optional medal and giveaway, timed results and a downloadable digital finisher's certificate. There are four water stations on the course, located at 3, 6, 9 and 11.5 miles, plus one High5 gel station; paper cups are used at water stations to reduce single use plastic.
Logistics for competitors include mailed event packs for UK residents and a pack collection point at the Sports Hall, Inverness Leisure for those travelling from overseas. A baggage drop is available in the Sports Centre on event morning. The organiser aims to support all participants and sets a course cut-off time of 3 hours 30 minutes; some road sections begin to re-open partway through the event to reduce local disruption.
There is no wheelchair category for the half marathon; wheelchair participants are invited to take part in the Inverness 5K. Support runners can be applied for free where required for disability or visual impairment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
