Inverness Half Marathon
The Inverness Half Marathon takes place on 14 March 2027 in the Highland city of Inverness. The event runs alongside the River Ness near the city centre and passes several local landmarks before finishing in a stadium. Participants must be at least 17 years old on the day.
The organisers provide a range of race services and items. Entry includes timed results and a downloadable digital finisher certificate. Finishers can receive a technical t-shirt, a medal and an event giveaway, each offered as optional items. There are four water stations on the course at miles 3, 6, 9 and 11.5, water at the finish, and one High5 gel station. The event aims to reduce single use plastic and will use paper cups at the water stations.
Practical arrangements include mailed event packs to UK entrants in late February and a baggage drop at the Sports Centre for those attending on race day. Half marathon runners are sent their bib and timing chip by post and do not need pre-race registration. There is no wheelchair category for the half marathon; wheelchair participants are invited to take part in the Inverness 5K held on the same day. Support runners may be granted a free place for visually impaired athletes. A limited number of elite entries are available subject to published standards.
