Event overview
By Way of The Glen (Glasgow to Inverness) is a multiday foot race covering a long-distance route between Milngavie (Glasgow area) and Inverness. The route follows the West Highland Way and the Great Glen Way and has a total ascent of around 24,000 ft. The route is waymarked with signs and includes checkpoints and marshal-serviced drop-bag points.

The race starts at Milngavie Train Station and finishes in Inverness. Checkpoints allow support teams to meet runners; some checkpoints are limited to drop bags and are marshalled. Runners will be tracked during the event. There is a stated requirement to have at least one runner able to run in case help is needed off the route between checkpoints. Race history will be vetted before full entry is confirmed. Entry is limited to 20 places. The event is open only to individuals who have completed races of 70 miles or more. Prices listed until 20 May 2026 are £268 (discounted) and £270 (standard). A presentation and prize giving will take place on Sunday morning at the Inverness sports centre.
