Lobster Lollop
The Lobster Lollop is a trail running event organised by Purple Gecko Events in association with the National Lobster Hatchery. It takes place on the Camel Trail as an out and back route on Saturday 14 November 2026. The organiser presents the event as family friendly and offers multiple distance choices.
The available distances are:
- 2.5k
- 5k
- 10k
- 10 mile
There is a Canicross category on the 5k, 10k, and 10 mile distances. Due to trail restrictions the day is split into two sessions, with the 10 mile and 10k grouped together and the 2.5k and 5k grouped together.
There are no cut-off times for any category. Every runner receives a Lobster Lollop medal and awards are given to top finishers in each category. Medal holders may present their medal at the National Lobster Hatchery for free entry during the event weekend. Donations to the National Lobster Hatchery can be made during entry to support its conservation work.
Minimum age requirements are: 5 years for the 2.5k, 8 years for the 5k, 14 years for the 10k, and 18 years for the 10 mile. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All Canicross participants must be 16 years or older.
