Bodmin Triathlon | The Dragon
Bodmin Triathlon | The Dragon is scheduled for 23 August 2026 at Bodmin Leisure Centre in Bodmin, Cornwall. The event combines a pool swim at the leisure centre with a rolling bike course and a run that passes through the woodland surrounding Lanhydrock’s Victorian estate.
The event offers two main distance options and afternoon junior races. It is included in the Cornish Tri Series, where overall series awards use a best of four scoring system and require volunteering or bringing a volunteer to at least one event to qualify.
- LITTLE DRAGON - Super Sprint: 200m swim | 13k bike | 2.5k run
- BIG DRAGON - Sprint: 400m swim | 26k bike | 5.6k run
Volunteer roles cover setup, registration, swim/bike/run marshalling, transition zone and finish line. Most volunteer roles do not require prior experience; the minimum volunteer age is 13. Volunteer rewards include a 50% credit for those who bring a volunteer and a 100% credit for entrants who volunteer themselves. Clubs or schools supplying multiple volunteers can request a donation in lieu of individual credits.
Age categories for series awards include Open (17-39 yrs), Vet (40-49 yrs), Super Vet (50-59 yrs), Vintage (60-69 yrs) and Super Vintage (70+ yrs). All finishers receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
