Llama Experience Ultra
The Llama Experience Ultra is a trail running event held on March 13 in Hendersonville, NC, organized by Dirty Wolf Ultras. The event takes place on the private grounds of Ellaberry Llama Farm and uses a loop format through the farm and surrounding trails.
The course runs through apple orchards and misty mountain trails. Trails are marked with red ribbons and yellow arrows. The event includes real llamas on the property and runners follow routes that pass through terrain used by the resident animals.
Aid stations supply a range of foods and drinks including pickles, cereal, fruit, candy, pretzels, bacon, Tailwind, water, and soda. First aid is onsite. Every finisher receives a medal. Results are posted on UltraSignup and photos are released about one week after the event.
Rules listed for the event include no dogs and no strollers except by exception, and trekking poles are allowed.
