Live Your Best Life Sensory Walk & 5K
The Live Your Best Life Sensory Walk & 5K is an inclusive charity run and walk held at Terry Trueblood Recreation Area in Iowa City, running November 7–14, 2026. The event includes in-person and virtual options and supports Systems Unlimited, an organization serving people with disabilities and mental health needs across Eastern Iowa.
The event format includes multiple route options:

- 1 Mile
The 1-Mile Sensory Walk features interactive sensory stations along the route, including scented bubbles, ribbon tunnels, art displays, bubble wrap, and a flower tunnel. The 5K course begins by passing through the Sensory Walk section before continuing onto a clear running path for the full 5K distance. Virtual participants can complete the 3.1-mile route anywhere between November 7 and November 14 and receive the same event items as in-person participants.
Registration opens March 11, 2026 and closes June 1, 2026. Registration fees vary by entry: Virtual 5K $25.00, 5K $30.00, 1-Mile Sensory Walk $25.00, Kids Sensory Walk $18.00, Kids 5K $20.00. Standard registration items listed for participants include an official event t-shirt, a sensory item, and a finisher medal or pin designed by a person served by Systems Unlimited.
