Live Your Best Life Sensory Walk & 5K
Live Your Best Life Sensory Walk & 5K is an inclusive charity run and walk held in Iowa City at Terry Trueblood Recreation Area. The event runs November 7 through November 14, 2026, and is hosted by Systems Unlimited to support people living with disabilities and mental health needs in Eastern Iowa.
Distances and options:
- Virtual 5K: 3.1 miles, complete anywhere between November 7 and November 14
- 5K: 3.1 miles at Terry Trueblood Recreation Area
- 1 Mile Sensory Walk: interactive sensory stations along the route
- Kids options for ages 12 or under: 1 Mile and 5K registrations
The 5K route begins by passing through the Sensory Walk portion, where participants encounter interactive stations, then continues onto a clear running path for the remainder of the course. Virtual participants complete the 3.1 miles at a location of their choice and receive the same event items as in-person participants.
Registration includes an official event t-shirt and a sensory item. Finish awards differ by distance: a 5K finisher medal and a 1 Mile finisher pin, both designed by a person served by Systems Unlimited.
