Event Details
Miles in the Maize is a running event scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026. It takes place at Colony Acres, located at 1150 South Front Street in North Liberty, Iowa.
Distances and Format
The event offers three separate entries:
- 5K
- Maize Mile (a one-mile race)
- A combined 5K & Maize Mile (BOTH) option
Participants can run an off-road course that weaves through a corn maze and a pumpkin patch, featuring fall scenery in Iowa.
Awards and Activities
The event includes costume awards, which are voted on and presented. Awards for the Maize Mile are given separately. A brief post-race awards ceremony is held after the 5K for overall and age group winners.
Registration and Logistics
Registration prices are listed as $30 for the 5K, $15 for the Maize Mile, and $40 for the combined event. Prices increase after September 6, 2026. Race day registration, both online and in-person, is available until 9:15 AM.
Packet pickup is available on November 7 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Fitness Sports in North Liberty. Race day pickup is from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Colony Acres. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after October 25.
Charitable Partnership
The event has partnered with the Corridor/Eastern Iowa Let Me Run and Girls on the Run organizations. Proceeds are donated directly to these programs, which support community, fun, and fitness for boys and girls in local elementary schools. Donations can be designated to either organization.
