Little Stretton to Stiperstones Time Trial
The Little Stretton to Stiperstones Time Trial is an annual competition on foot held on 29 November 2026. The event, in its 39th year, is open to runners and challenge walkers competing solo or as declared pairs. The objective is to travel on foot, unaided, between Little Stretton and Stiperstones villages in the shortest time possible.
The route is not prescribed and will typically be about 9 or 10 miles depending on route choice. Route selection benefits from local knowledge; participants must be competent and self-reliant on upland terrain and in uncertain weather. Timing is recorded for solo efforts and for declared pairs, with winners in a variety of categories and modest prizes awarded. Pairs must start and finish together.
Registration is available on the day only and requires payment in cash. Entry fees are £8 for an adult, £15 for a pair and £10 for an adult and junior pair. As part of registration, participants must provide emergency contact details and information to help locate prize winners; these details are used only for the 2026 Time Trial.
A Finish to Start bus service may be operated for a fee; places are limited and reservations are handled on a first come, first served basis. Competitors must report to the Finish; failure to report may lead to a missing person response. Entrants take part at their own risk and must carry appropriate clothing and safety equipment.
