Little River Rush Half Marathon
The Little River Rush Half Marathon is a point-to-point running event held in Townsend and Maryville, Tennessee. The course is designed to be fast, featuring over 600 feet of total descent and more than 200 feet of net downhill. Participants run through the back roads of Townsend, with views of the surrounding mountains and minimal traffic congestion.
The competition offers one primary distance:
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
The race starts at Peaceful Side Social in Townsend and concludes at Heritage High School in Maryville. The event has a time limit of 4 hours to complete the course. Participants are advised to park at the finish area at Heritage High School, where buses transport runners to the start line. A bag drop service is available at the start, allowing runners to retrieve their items at the finish line.
Aid stations providing water and Gatorade are located at miles 4, 7, and 10. Portable restrooms are placed at the start, the finish, and at intervals along the course. All finishers receive a custom race medal. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in various age categories ranging from under 19 to over 70.
