Event Overview
The Little Compton Road Race is a 45th annual event held in Little Compton, Rhode Island. It features three race formats: a 4.8 Mile Run, The Pike's Peak Race for kids, and a Virtual 4.8 Miler.
Race Details
The primary event is a 4.8 mile rural course described as flat and scenic. It uses Mylaps-B Tag timing and has three water stations. The race is officially sanctioned by USATF, and following their rules, strollers, baby joggers, and dogs are not permitted. A children's race called The Pike's Peak Race is also offered.
Registration is online only, with no paper registration on the day of the event. The event location is the Wilbur McMahon School Gym in Little Compton.
Prizes and Categories
Merchandise prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each age category. The categories include Junior (13-19), Open (20-39), Master (40-49), Senior (50-59), Veteran (60-69), Grand Veteran (70-79), Much Admired (80+), and a special category for full-time Little Compton residents.
Post-Race Events
Refreshments are provided for all runners. Post-race activities are described as having a summer country fair atmosphere with over 40 vendors, a food court, music, kids games, a White Elephant sale, and raffles. T-shirts are given to the first 500 entries for the 4.8 mile run and the first 120 entries for the kids' race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
